Most trials have been critically appraised and rated to help in judging their validity and interpretability. PIER: The Physicians' Information and Education Resource Published by the American College of Physicians, PIER provides current, evidence-based guidance for clinicians. PIER features disease-specific articles presenting succinct practice recommendations supported by detailed levels of rationale and evidence. Supporting references are given a level of evidence rating. Rational Clinical Examination (JAMA) Retrieves from PubMed all of the citations to the popular JAMA series, The Rational Clinical Examination. Full-text is available from 1998 forward and can be accessed by displaying the abstract and selecting the publisher icon. TRIP Database The TRIP Database aims to allow health professionals to easily find the highest-quality material on the web to support evidence based practice. TRIP aggregates and then performs a meta-search of over one hundred free access Web sites. Among the sources covered are Cochrane Library, ACP Journal Club and eMedicine. TRIP is updated monthly, which means that once a month the majority of sources are visited and new articles are added. UpToDate - (Available on-campus only; ACCESS DETAILS) UpToDate is a practical clinical information resource that aims to synthesize the latest research evidence with best practices in order to provide detailed recommendations. Topic reviews cover internal medicine, ob/gyn, and pediatrics and are written by recognized physician experts.
