AHFS Drug Information - (STAT!Ref)
AHFS Drug Information is a collection of drug monographs kept current by periodic updates. It provides comprehensive, unbiased, and evaluative drug information, containing a monograph on virtually every molecular drug entity available in the US. Named by the U.S. Congress as a source that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid can use to determine which off-label uses of drugs can be reimbursed.

Clinical Pharmacology
Clinical Pharmacology is an up-to-date, concise and clinically-relevant database of drug monographs for all U.S. prescription drugs, herbal and nutritional supplements, over-the-counter products and new and investigational drugs. Search by generic or brand name, indication, contraindication, adverse reaction or therapeutic classification. Monographs include description, mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics, indications, dosing by indication, including FDA-approved and off-label uses, and pediatric, adult and geriatric dosing, contraindications, adverse reactions, classifications, and costs.

DailyMed
An online compendium of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved labels for prescription drugs marketed in the U.S. Drug label information is the most recent submitted to the FDA by drug manufacturers. The monographs have been reformatted to make them easier to use. DailyMed is a joint project of the FDA and the National Library of Medicine (NLM).

Drug Information from Gold Standard - (MD Consult)
Drug Information from Gold Standard includes complete chemical structure and dosing information, adverse reactions, and indications and contraindications. It also includes patient education in English and Spanish and full-color photos of all formulations. The MD Consult interface allows you to browse drugs by name of drug, indication, contraindication and adverse effect.

DRUGDEX - (MICROMEDEX)
Comprehensive, referenced drug monographs cover FDA-approved, non-US, OTC, and investigational drugs. Provides strength of evidence, recommendation, and efficacy ratings for all on- and off-label therapeutic uses. Named by the U.S. Congress as source that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid can use to determine which off-label uses of drugs can be reimbursed.

DrugPoints System - (STAT!Ref)
The DrugPoints System provides concise synopses on FDA-approved prescription and nonprescription drugs, includes both labeled and off-label uses, and regulatory status and generic availability. The Indications and Dosing section includes efficacy, strength of evidence, and strength of recommendation ratings.

The DrugPoints System provides concise synopses on FDA-approved prescription and nonprescription drugs, includes both labeled and off-label uses, and regulatory status and generic availability. The Indications and Dosing section includes efficacy, strength of evidence, and strength of recommendation ratings. The MICROMEDEX platform offers linking from DrugPoints synopses to detailed information in DRUGDEX.

Drugs and Lactation Database (LactMed)
Drugs and Lactation Database (LactMed) is a peer-reviewed and fully referenced database of drugs to which breastfeeding mothers may be exposed. Among the data included are maternal and infant levels of drugs, possible effects on breastfed infants and on lactation, and alternate drugs to consider.

Drugs@FDA
Drugs@FDA is a catalog of FDA approved drug products. Included are approved and tentatively approved prescription, over-the-counter, and discontinued drugs, as well as drug approval letters, labels, and review packages.

Epocrates Online
Epocrates Online provides current, concise summaries of drug prescribing and safety information for thousands of U.S. brand and generic drugs. Free registration required to access drug-drug interaction tools, health plan and Medicare Part D insurance formularies, patient medication handouts, and disease modules with evidence-based content from the BMJ Group.

Lexi-Comp - (from UpToDate; Available on-campus only)
Clinically oriented drug monographs available via the UpToDate search platform. Includes U.S. and international drugs. Indicates generic availability and includes pricing information. A separate program in UpToDate, Lexi-Interact Online, provides risk ratings of drug-to-drug interactions.

Lexi-Comp ONLINE - (Available on-campus only)
An integrated search platform for multiple drug information resources including the Mount Sinai Formulary and Lexi-Drugs. Additional indexes cover pediatric and geriatric pharmacotherapy, pharmacogenomics, infectious diseases management, poisoning and toxicology, nuclear and biological chemical agent exposures, and laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures. Includes a drug interaction and compatibility tool and a drug identification tool. Provides generic drug availability and pricing information. Patient Care Modules provide patient education handouts on medications, diseases and conditions in up to 18 languages.

Martindale: The Complete Drug Reference - (From MICROMEDEX)
Available from within the MICROMEDEX Healthcare Series, Martindale: The Complete Drug Reference provides international drug information including investigational and herbal drugs, as well as summaries for more than 150,000 proprietary products from 37 countries. It also presents brand names, manufacturer, country of origin, active constituents, and licensed uses.

MICROMEDEX Healthcare Series
An integrated search platform for over a dozen national and international drug and toxicology resources, e.g., DRUGDEX, DRUGPOINTS, the PDR, and Martindales. It also offers overviews on emergency conditions and treatments, including environmental and occupational exposures to chemicals and hazardous materials, and a collection of reproductive risk databases. Includes drug interaction, IV compatibility, and drug identification tools. The CareNotes System provides patient education handouts on medications, diseases and conditions in English and Spanish.

Mount Sinai Formulary - (Lexi-Comp ONLINE; Available on-campus only)
The Mount Sinai Formulary is provided by and integrated into Lexi-Comp ONLINE. The Formulary provides drug information by brand, generic name or therapeutic category. It also provides drug alerts and Mount Sinai Pharmacy Department policies and procedures such as antibiotic approval systems.

Natural Standard
Natural Standard provides evidence-based information about complementary and alternative therapies, and includes contributors from more than 50 academic institutions. For each therapy covered by Natural Standard, a research team systematically gathers scientific data and expert opinions. Validated rating scales are used to evaluate the quality of available evidence. Information is incorporated into comprehensive monographs which are designed to facilitate clinical decision making. All monographs undergo blinded editorial and peer review prior to inclusion in Natural Standard databases.

Physicians' Desk Reference (PDR) - (MICROMEDEX)
The Physicians' Desk Reference (PDR) is a compendium of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved labels for drugs marketed in the U.S. The drugs' manufacturers bear the costs of the entries; not all marketed drugs are submitted. This online version of the print reference is available within the MICROMEDEX Healthcare Series.

RxAssist
RxAssist offers a current, comprehensive database of patient assistance programs run by pharmaceutical companies to provide free medications to people who cannot afford to buy their medicine, and makes application forms available online. Created by Volunteers in Health Care (VIH), a national resource center for safety net organizations, which operates out of the Brown University Center for Primary Care and Prevention. Site is sponsored by Astra Zeneca. Free Registration required.
